Are we going to trap ourself in this big rock , space debris

The great problem of space debris

space debris is being a huge problem. it is going to be a great problem is the future of our space travel

what is space debris ?

space debris are defunct human made objects which does not serve any useful purpose Space debris is typically a negative externality—it creates an external cost on others from the initial action to launch or use a spacecraft in near-Earth orbit—a cost that is typically not taken into account nor fully accounted for in the cost by the launcher or payload owner.

as of of January 2021, the US space surveillance network tracked 21,901 artificial objects in orbit above the Earth, including 4,450 operational satellites.
but this are big enough to track .there are many very minute space debris that we can't even track even a 1cm space debris can be a huge problem to a satellite .

As of January 2019, more than 128 million pieces of debris smaller than 1 cm (0.4 in), about 900,000 pieces of debris 1–10 cm, and around 34,000 of pieces larger than 10 cm (3.9 in) were estimated to be in orbit around the Earth because of this iss and many other satellite are at great risk at hitting a space debris.
iss is constantly dodging the space debris using the Russian Progress supply ships which are docked to the iss, their thrusters are fired. To move the ISS safely

so how do we can solve this problem?

The mission dubbed, remove debris are funded by the European union, they will test for the first time a net and a harpoon concept in orbit. they will eject two artificial space junks and use them to target them for testing the new technologies .
JAXA also recently tested their KITE experiment to deploy a 700-meter tether as a de-orbitation technology (a technology to bring satellites back down to Earth quicker to burn up); unfortunately the attempt was unsuccessful.
But these programs can only de-orbit
large space junks there are minute space junks that we cannot de orbit with the current technology . Till the technology comes we need to hope that it de-orbit itself into the atmosphere of the earth
